SBI

An interactive app that structures feedback as Situation, Behavior, and Impact. You leave with words about what happened, not who they are. Useful when you owe someone feedback and the draft is still about the person.

You owe someone feedback and the draft is still about the person. Rebuild it as Situation, Behavior, and Impact. Words about what happened, not who they are.

1 Start with what you would actually say

Vent here. Nothing you type leaves this page. The highlights show where the draft is about the person instead of what happened.

    2 Situation

When and where. Specific enough to jog memory without debate: a date, a meeting, a document.

      3 Behavior

What you saw or heard. Actions, not intent. A camera could have recorded it.

        4 Impact

The effect on you, others, or the work. Say it from your side: "I noticed", "It cost us".

          5 Say this

Your feedback appears here as you fill in the three parts.
          Before you deliver it
          • Soon and in private. Feedback ages badly.
          • Say the three parts, ask the intent question, then stop talking.
          • This works for praise too. Positive SBI notes become the evidence in a promotion case.
